A Day with the Boys ~ October 16, 2010

What a great and fun day with Max & Christopher.

The day started at 7:00 a.m. when the alarm went off.  Too early for this Grammy.  But up we got after some tickling time with Christopher.  Not sure how Max slept through all the laughter.

Everyone finally got up and got dressed and then had cereal.  Realized we don't dress Christopher for the day until AFTER he has eaten breakfast.    Then we headed out the door for Max's soccer game.  It was held at the Clarkston Boys & Girls Club.  As we pulled into the parking lot we realized we forgot the lawn chairs which are a much needed item.  So Grandpa and Christopher went back to the motor home to get them.  Max walked over to the soccer field to join his teammates.

Once Grandpa got back with the chairs we made our way to the field.  First obstacle ~ we forgot Christopher's Mickey Mouse chair in the van.  The van is at their house ~ do you see the problem.  Once Christopher was convinced that he could sit on Grammy's lap all was well.  We watched a great game.  Max's team won 9 to 3 and Max made 2 goals!  It was quite chilly but this Grammy was thankful we had lots of sunshine and no rain.

Max is # 7.

Watching the soccer ball going awry.

And just look at that style while throwing the ball in.

Running towards the ball...on to making his first goal.

After the soccer game we piled back into the suburban and drove into Lewiston for the Pumpkin Palooza.  We saw lots of pumpkins.  Max was a great big brother and helped Christopher paint a pumpkin, do pumpkin bowling (Christopher got a strike and Max got a spare), drew pumpkins on the ground with chalk and make a pumpkin face on a bright orange plate.  We then walked up the hill to watch people rolling pumpkins down a hill for a chance to win $10,000.  We did not try as it cost $5 to $10 depending on how many pumpkins you wanted to roll down the hill.  We walked around and saw the vendors and their wares.  There were vendors with wood walking sticks, handmade cribbage boards, homemade jams, lots of fresh vegetables and carved out pumpkins.

And he got a strike!

Max watching the pins drop with his first pumpkin roll.

And he hit them so hard they went under the screen!  Great job Max on picking up the spare.

Looking at the finished face.

Drawing pumpkins on the ground.

Christopher wrote "hi" and then scribbled it out.  We were all surprised that you could read it before the two other lines were added.

See the spider and web in the second pumpkin.

Check out the art work.

This one had four faces drawn into it.  Reminded me of the Many Faces of Eve.

The other side of Eve.

And the mural on the side of the building of the old cars.

We then made our way back to the motor home for lunch and some much needed naps.  Grandpa and Christopher took a long nap while Max watched football and Grammy did stuff on the computer.  The plan once the guys wake up is to go swimming again.  Am sure that will be a wonderful time.

More later ~ wishing everyone a great day!
